Spring is when life seems to burst forth at a tremendous rate. The ground is suddening full of colour and the air full of bird song. It is a reminder for me that change is always happening. We are always changing. Almost every cell in our body is being replaced all of the time, approximately 330 billion cells per day!
Gut lining - every 3-4 days
Taste buds - every 10 days
Red blood cells - every 4 months
Bone call - 10% per year
Skeletal Muscles (the ones we use to move our limbs) - 10-16 years.
The cells that are with us for life make up the lens of our eye and the nerve cells of our cerebral cortex (the outer part of the brain involved with memory, thought, language, attention and consciousness), so it’s extra important that we look after these cells. Cellular regeneration is part of what makes us amazing - and it’s happening all of the time without our conscious control. We are self-healing and self-maintaining - amazing! However, the actions we take will have an impact on the stress we place on these cells. So, we do have control on this amazing body.
Chiropractic care recognises this amazing healing and regenerative ability of the body, and respects the role the spine has in protecting the master controller of our body - the nervous system. By correcting the small changes to the movement of the spine, the vertebral subluxation, the nervous system is better able to communicate with the cells of the body. It is like a wonderfully complex orchestra under the control of a masterful conductor giving each cell its own amazing melody.

I have been working on a re-fresh of the Key Chiropractic branding. Keep your eyes open for the logo change and the new website. I am sure the transition will go smoothly, as the technical side is not one of my strengths!
